Breckenridge

June 22, 2019

We left Salina around 7:30 am and headed toward Breck. At a gas stop, we realized that one of our brake lines had come undone. Thankfully we had recently performed a repair so we had all of the necessary tools and supplies. Stu went into the Pilot gas station to see if we could find more robust solder connections (instead of crimp) but in the meantime, I got it mostly back together. He held the wires so I could get the final crimp in place. It felt very empowering to have the tools we needed for the job - especially for the steep grade ahead. The hour and a half from Denver to Breckenridge was intense but the rig handled beautifully. We were very thankful to have the transmission cooler and braking system. We met Stu’s cousin, parked the Airstream and went into town for dinner. When we got back, the boys were desperate to take a bath. We played some Uno and got settled into our beds. The craziest part of the day was the fact that it SNOWED on June 22!!  Such wonderful adventures already and the journey has just begun!
