Hot Springs, AR Day 2
May 31, 2019
Breakfast this morning was crepes - my favorite breakfast yet! We made strawberry and whipped cream crepes and nutella cheddar. We packed lunches and split off into boys and girls. The boys off-roaded all morning and Lucy and I went into Hot Springs to start checking off sites! I parked the truck (!) and we hiked the Promenade behind Bath House Row. We picked up a junior ranger booklet and got to work! We filled a thermos with hot springs water and added a tea bag to enjoy our water - it came out of the ground at 120 degrees! All of the bath services were for 10+ so we skipped that part. Lucy wanted shaved ice and I tried Hot Springs Root Beer at Superior Bath Brewery. We went in a few shops and got cupcakes at Fat Bottomed Girls (they were on cupcake wars on the food network). Yum! We had a car picnic and drove out to Anthony Chapel. It was beautiful! We still had time, so we drove to Catherine Lake State Park and took a half mile hike to a gorgeous waterfall. Lucy was brave and got in the water -- it was too cold for me! We drove back and hung out at the campsite.
